ANTI-narcotics operatives seized on Wednesday afternoon, February 13, over P200 million worth of illegal drugs in an apartment being rented by a Chinese citizen in Dasmariñas, Cavite.

Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Director General Aaron Aquino said PDEA operatives searched the house rented to Chinese drug suspect identified as Alexander Jun Wahting at Block 37 Lot 7 Citrus Street, Pacific Park Place in Barangay Paliparan, Dasmariñas, Cavite.

The search was conducted several hours after the arrest of Wahting and his alleged cohort identified as Patrick Ban Kee. The two suspects were arrested around 3 a.m. Wednesday in Talayan village in Quezon City.

Aquino said operatives recovered P13.6 million worth of illegal drugs from Wahting during his arrest.

Recovered from the Dasmariñas house were approximately 36 kilos of methamphetamine hydrochloride (shabu) worth P244.8 million and numerous backpacks.

Aquino said the Wahting’s group is possibly a part of the Golden Triangle drug syndicate operating in Laos, Myanmar and Thailand. (SunStar Philippines)
