TAGUIG-Pateros Representative Pia Cayetano is looking at returning to Senate after filing her certificate of candidacy (COC) for the May 2019 polls on Tuesday, October 16.

In a media briefing Tuesday, Cayetano said she wants to continue what she started in the Senate during her previous two terms.

“When it comes to my actions, I think my record speaks for itself during the time I was in the Senate,” Cayetano said. “Look at my track record. I will continue to fight for women, for health care.”

She said though that this does not mean that she does not want to be a congresswoman.

“My time in the House is very valuable because it allowed me to learn from officials on the ground,” said Cayetano.

But when asked to comment on the controversial actions of President Rodrigo Duterte against women, she repeatedly refused to comment.

“I am not the President's spokesperson and the President can defend himself and answer the questions in respect to his actions and his words,” she said. (HDT/SunStar Philippines)
