PHILIPPINE National Police (PNP) Internal Affairs Service inspector general Alfegar Triambulo said Tuesday, November 23, that beleaguered Colonel Dulnoan Dinamling Jr. is facing possible dismissal from service following the incident that caused a subordinate’s blindness.

In a text message, Triambulo said he has ordered the conduct of a probe parallel to the investigation being conducted by the Special Investigation Task Force formed by the Police Regional Office (PRO)-Bicol.

“Pag ganun nature ng incident, grave misconduct (ang possible administrative case na isasampa),” he said.

“Yes, (it may result in his dismissal from police service) kasi it is a serious offense,” he added.

On November 13, Dinamling, commander of the PRO-Bicol aviation unit, hit Police Master Sergeant Ricky Brabante in the face with a wine glass, resulting in the removal of Brabante’s right eye to avoid future complications.

Dinamling was allegedly intoxicated at the time of the incident. He attended a birthday party of his classmate inside Camp Brigadier General Simeon Ola in Legazpi City.

PNP Chief Dionardo Carlos said Dinamling admitted he had low tolerance for alcoholic beverages.

Dinamling has been placed under restrictive custody of the PNP Aviation Group while investigation is ongoing.

Carlos gave the SITG one week to finish the investigation and hand him over its recommendation. (SunStar Philippines)
