AUTHORITIES filed on Monday, December 2, criminal charges against an official of the Philippine Southeast Asian Games Organizing Committee (Phisgoc) for allegedly bad-mouthing several policemen assigned at a football venue of the Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games) in Biñan City in Laguna.

Lieutenant Colonel Danilo Mendoza, Biñan City Police Station chief, said they filed two counts of unjust vexation and two counts of oral defamation against Mark Nikolai Villamora, planning chief of Phisgoc.

The charges were filed before the Biñan City Prosecutor's Office by Mendoza, Chief Master Sergeant Danny Apostol and Master Sergeant Michael Terciro Fetizanan.

Villamora has yet to comment on the allegations.

In their complaint, the police officers alleged that the Phisgoc official berated the policemen deployed at the venue on November 25 and again on November 29.

“Maayos po na nagtatrabaho ang aking mga pulis sa venue, nagbibilad sa init ng araw para magampanan ang tungkulin sa bayan pero ano po ang ginawa ng taong ito, ipinahiya, sinigawan at minura sila sa harapan ng maraming tao,” Mendoza said. (SunStar Philippines)
