THE primary suspect in the killing of a mother and her two sons in San Jose Del Monte City in Bulacan last week was found dead inside a police detention facility.

In a report, the police said Joselito Cortez, 48, hanged himself using an electrical wire from the ceiling of the San Jose Del Monte police station’s comfort room.

An inmate found Cortez's body, which was rushed to the district hospital but he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Police said the body will undergo an autopsy.

Cortez was arrested on April 4 hours after he and his cohort, Wilson Nosal, allegedly killed Jaymee Casabuena, 28, a single mother and her two sons, Anton Gabriel, 8, and Joaquin Mateo, 4.

Cortez admitted a hand in the crime, saying he was under the influence of illegal drugs. (SunStar Philippines)
