1 killed, another hurt in shooting incidents

A 42-YEAR-OLD man died, while the other was wounded in two separate shooting incidents in Davao City on Friday.

The first incident took place around 3:10 p.m. in front of the Mercury Drug at Crossing Ulas, Barangay Talomo Proper, wherein the victim was identified as Arturo Cayona Chavez, 42, a resident of Farland Extension in Dacoville.

Record from the Talomo Police Station showed that the victim was walking on his way home when two men on board a motorcycle stop behind, which one of them shot the victim at close range. The victim succumbed to a gunshot wound in his head, while the suspects left carrying the bag of the victim.

The authorities recovered a wallet containing several identification cards like Philippine National Police (PNP) and Philippine Army (PA) ID. The cadaver of the victim was brought to Angel Funeral Parlor, while the police are investigating the incident.

The second incident took place around 9 p.m. at the parking lot of a bank in Lanang, wherein the victim was identified Emmanuel LedesmaAcuna Jr., 31, a residente of 145 4th Avenue at Ecoland Subdivision this city.

Record from the Sasa Police Station showed that the victim only parked his vehicle when an unidentified man approached and shot him. The suspect fled, while the victim was then rushed to Southern Philippines Medical Center.

Members of the Sasa Police Station are conducting investigation on the incident.
