1 wounded in Pagadian City gun attack

A BUSINESSWOMAN was wounded, while her husband was unscathed in a gun attack by motorcycle-riding gunmen in Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur, the police reported on Sunday, February 18.

Chief Inspector Helen Galvez, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula information officer, identified the businesswoman as Elma Lumacad, 59, who was brought to the hospital.

The incident happened around 7:45 p.m. Saturday, February 17, at Sagun Bridge in the village of Balangasan, Pagadian City.

Galvez said investigation showed the couple were aboard a motorcycle coming from their residence en route to an eatery when they stopped at the bridge since the brake malfunctioned.

Galvez said two men riding tandem in a motorcycle arrived and shot the couple while Tejano was fixing his motorcycle.

She said Elma suffered three gunshot wounds while Tejano was unharmed.

Police said the perpetrators, armed with caliber .45 pistols, sped toward Vicencio Sagun Street in the village of Gatas, Pagadian City. (SunStar Philippines)
