BANGSAMORO Islamic Armed Forces spokesperson Von Alhaq said 14 members of Moro Islamic Liberation Front surrendered to 603rd Brigade of the Philippine Army in Cotabato City, report said.
Earlier, reports also said that one Tannie Masapi alias "Kumander Tawan-Tawan" from the 108th Base Command which operates in Barangay Damakling, Datu Paglat, Maguindanao surrendered with his high-powered firearms in answer to the "balik baril program" of the government.
But Alhaq said no Kumander Tawan Tawan belonged to their group adding that he could be from a private armed group in Maguindanao.
Meanwhile, 603rd Brigade commander Ernesto Aradanas assured that those who surrendered will receive aid from the government. (Sunnex)
