THE Bacolod City Anti-Smoking Task Force Action Team apprehended 17 persons smoking in public places in violation of City Ordinance 641, and Tobacco Control Act, and Executive Order 26.

Councilor Caesar Distrito, task force vice chairperson, said the action team is issuing citation tickets to violators.

Team personnel regularly conduct operations particularly in the downtown area, schools, and public places.

The violators were caught at the Central Market, Plaza Mart, and areas surrounding La Consolacion College-Bacolod.

Violators were issued citation tickets and were informed to settle the fine within five working days to avoid legal charges and imprisonment.
