CHARGES were filed before the Davao City Prosecutor’s Office on Friday against two suspects for alleged stealing.

Police identified the suspects as Jomar Anga Bacatan, 20, and Michael Cabanig Obligado, 26, both residents of Purok 9 in Catigan, Toril, Davao City.

Chief Inspector Angel Sumagaysay, Toril police chief, said the suspects were charged with robbery in the inhabited house and were brought before Prosecutor Maria Gemma Tambis around 10 a.m. on January 24 for inquest proceedings.

Records obtained from the police showed that the suspects were arrested on Saavedra Street in Toril Poblacion on Thursday around 2:45 p.m. The two were identified via closed circuit television (CCTV) camera placed at a junkshop.

Sumagaysay said they learned about the incident when one Antonio Paunit Tejano, 46, of Davao City appeared to his station and reported that a robbery incident occurred at the Akimasa Corporation Plant on Saavedra Street in Toril.

The police investigators said the suspects gained entry by cutting a G.I. sheet wall cover at the back of the plant. The suspects took 10 horsepower compressor worth P200,000.

The stolen item was recovered at the RP Junkshop owned by one Reward Lastra Pi¤on of Manggahan Road in Toril. The suspects are now detained at the Toril Police Station.
