CATBALOGAN CITY -- After few years of hiding, the number 1 most wanted person of this city was finally arrested around 12:55 p.m. of January 9 at Purok 6, Barangay Mercedes, here.

The suspect identified as Reynaldo Mariquet, alias Naldo, 45, was arrested by joint elements of the Catbalogan police station and Military Intelligence Battalion 8.

He escaped two years ago when he was charged with murder.

Earlier, Police Superintendent Edwin Barbosa, Catbalogan police chief, and his team also nabbed in a manhunt operation in Barangay 6 a certain Jerico Claros, 42, a cab driver, who has been listed as the number 7 most wanted person in the city.

Several warrants of arrest were served to Claros for violation of Republic Act 7610, otherwise known as Anti-Child Abuse Law of 1992.

Claros was turned over to the court and detained with recommended bail bond amounting to P200,000. (Sunnex)
