2 Negrenses die of dengue

TWO residents of Negros Occidental died due to dengue between January 1 and February 4 this year, records of the Provincial Health Office (PHO) showed.

The fatalities were from the cities of Escalante and San Carlos.

During the period, the PHO reported 302 dengue cases, or lower by three percent than the 311 cases in 2016.

In 2016, Negros Occidental had 6,296 dengue cases, with the highest reported from July 31 to August 6.

Last year, Silay City reported the highest cases with 750; Talisay City, 564; Bago City, 457; San Carlos City, 435; Himamaylan City, 396; Cauayan, 362; and Kabankalan City, 316. (TDE)
