ANGELES CITY -- The CineKabalen Kapampangan Film Festival, which is now on its fifth year, has called on Kapampangan film makers to send their entries on or before November 6.

The CineKabalen Kapampangan Film Festival aims to motivate Kapampangans to explore digital filmmaking.

The event was organized by the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (HAU), Foundation for Lingap Kapampangan, Inc., and the Holy Angel University Center for Kapampangan Studies.

The ultimate aims to promote Kapampangan culture and language through cinema. he CineKabalen Film Festival aims to motivate Kapampangans to get into digital filmmaking and to promote Kapampangan culture and language through cinema.

The event is open to filmmakers who identify themselves as Kapampangans or of Kapampangan descent, living in the country or abroad as well as those based in Central Luzon.

Entries containing extreme violence, obscenity, and mature themes will not be disqualified and are still eligible to participate. However, the organizers reserve the right not to publicly show during the festival any entry they consider unfit for general patronage.

The festival is steered by award-winning director Jason Laxamana.

Laxamana is the director behind succesful Kapampangan films like "Babagwa" (The Spider's Lair) which competed in the New Breed category of the Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival and "Magkakabaung" which bagged awards for Best Director, Best Screenplay and Best Film, among others.
