4 drug dealers arrested in raid

POLICE arrested Tuesday four suspected illegal drug dealers during a raid in one of the hotels in Zamboanga City, a top police official said.

Senior Superintendent Edwin de Ocampo, Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO) director, said the raid was carried out following intelligence report on the presence of drug dealers at the hotel along Tomas Claudio Street in downtown area.

De Ocampo said two of the suspects were wounded in the shootout between them and the suspects around 1 p.m. No policemen were injured during the shootout.

He said the wounded suspects were taken to a hospital for treatment and are closely guarded by policemen to prevent their escape.

De Ocampo said the other two suspects were in the custody of ZCPO headquarters for further investigation.

Meanwhile, the police have recovered packs of white crystalline substance believed to be shabu, with estimated worth of more than P100,000.

De Ocampo said they also recovered from the suspects two caliber .45 pistols and a caliber .38 revolver with ammunitions.

Appropriate charges will be filed against the suspects, de Ocampo said.
