CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- At least four persons were injured on Monday when three trailer trucks and seven cars figured in a multiple collision near the City of San Fernando exit northbound lane of the North Luzon Expressway (NLEx).

In a statement, NLEx traffic management and safety department head Robyn Ignacio said a speeding trailer truck lost control and rammed several vehicles stuck in traffic caused by an earlier accident an hour before the multiple collision at 10 a.m.

The four injured who were brought to hospitals in this city for treatment were not yet identified at press time, but the pile-up caused heavy traffic along NLEx’s northbound lane.

NLEx spokesperson Francisco Dagohoy however said that one southbound lane was opened for northbound vehicles to ease the heavy traffic in the area, which lightened the gridlock past 11 a.m. (JTD/Sun.Star Pampanga)
