FOUR people, including three children, were injured while one was unscathed in a highway accident in an east coast village of Zamboanga City, the police said Saturday.

The Police Station 1 said the incident happened around 6:30 a.m. Friday, August 26, at Sitio Taloptap in the village of Vitali.

The police said the children were injured after they were rammed by a fish-carrier truck driven by Mark Omo, 34, who was also injured.

The police identified the wounded children as Ian Levie Tan, 5; Angeline Cadano, 11; and Jomel Juan, 15. They were taken to the hospital for treatment.

Omo’s assistant, Jaime Montero, was unscathed during the accident.

Omo told the police that he fell asleep while driving and that he tried to stop the truck but failed. (SunStar Philippines)
