A 35-YEAR-OLD man in Lantapan, Bukidnon has been accused of killing his 65-year-old neighbor, chopping his neighbor’s remains into little pieces, placing these in a pot and subsequently eating the cooked meat.

Police identified the suspect as Teddy Boy Villegas of Lantapan town and the victim as Edwin Ma.

On Friday, October 28, police discovered parts of the victim's body in the middle of a banana plantation.

Ma’s other body parts were discovered inside a cooking pot.

Senior Police Officer 1 (SPO1) Roy Yacapin, Lantapan police investigator, said Villegas may be suffering from an unspecified mental disorder.

Yacapin said Villegas may have to be examined by an expert to determine the latter’s true state of mental health.

"Lisod man siya istoryahon kay gangisi-ngisi lang. Ipasuta nato kung tinuod ba nga dunay deperensya sa pangisip ang suspect," Yacapin said.

Meanwhile, police authorities here reported separate stabbing incidents involving a construction worker Tuesday.

Reynante Elba, 38, a resident of Macanhan, Carmen, Cagayan de Oro City, was stabbed to death by his co-worker identified as Fernando Dela Peña, a resident of Matilde street, Carmen, at about 11 p.m. on Monday, October 31.

Reports from the Carmen police station said the two were having a drinking spree when the suspect suddenly stabbed the victim.

The victim succumbed to a stab wound on his chest while the suspect immediately fled after the incident.

The suspect was later arrested by policemen in Ipil street, village of Carmen.

Recovered in the crime scene was a 17-inch angle bar used by the suspect in killing the victim.

Investigators said friends of both men revealed that the two may have fought following the suspect’s supposed affair with the victim's sister-in-law.

The suspect is now detained at the Maharlika detention cell of Cagayan de Oro City Police Office.
