7 village watchmen, official's relative surrender loose firearms

(UPDATED) -- Seven village watchmen and a city official's relative surrendered their unlicensed firearms to Carcar City Police Station in the past two days.

Carcar City Police Chief Randy Korret said their campaign on loose firearms is part of their security preparations for the yuletide season.

Guadalupe Village watchmen Romy Elorde, Carlos Remoyen, and Jesus Roldan surrendered three .38 revolvers and a .22 caliber magnum revolver on Tuesday, November 21.

On Monday, November 20, Tuyom Barangay Tanod Renmar Tanutanud surrendered a .38 revolver and an improvised shotgun.

Buenavista Village watchmen Isagani Satuita, Carmelo Lania, and Aurelio Geloca gave up two .38 revolvers, an improvised shotgun and a "sumpak" during the Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Council meeting.

Traffic enforcer Reynante Apura, a relative of Carcar City Mayor Nicepuro Apura, surrendered his two .22 revolvers without serial numbers, and a homemade .22 rifle without serial number. (KAL/SunStar Cebu)
