SEVEN Russians, two Filipinos and a Vietnamese were rescued from their boat that had broken down in the waters off Danao City at 6:30 p.m. last Saturday.

The report from San Francisco Police Station said the passengers are students of an English teaching center in Cebu City.

No one was hurt during the incident.

Investigation showed that the foreigners are students planning to tour the scenic spots in San Francisco, Camotes.

They boarded a motor boat that was docked at Danao City Port after they failed to catch the 2:30 p.m. schedule of a bigger passenger boat.

After reaching three nautical miles from the port, the engine of the motor boat they were riding conked out.

The boat, which was operated by Joe Fernan Villamonter Almeres and Jolito Tabanao Bregola, was already floating for an hour when the crew of m/v Mika Mari 1 of Jomalia Shipping noticed it.

Mika Mari’s personnel let the students, Almeres and Bregola go aboard the ship and they ferried them to the port in Barangay Consuelo, San Francisco.

The Russians are Andrei Limaenko, 36; Ksenila Alekseeva, 29; Maksim Zolotukhin, 26; Ekaterina Kuprina, 17; Alexandra Ilyushenhenko, 19; Vladimir Kugno, 19; and Kandrov Aleksei, 15.

Police identified the Vietnamese as Linh Inguyenhoang, 20 and a native of Hanoi City.
