80 Kapampangans receive hearing aids from Starkey

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – About 80 Kapampangans recently received hearing aids from Starkey Hearing Foundation in partnership with the Provincial Health Office.

Apart rom the hearing aid recipients, some 14 Kapampangans also benefitted from the free hearing services provided by the said foundation during their visit here.

The event happened at the Bren Z. Guiao Convention Center here and was graced by Pampanga Second District Representative Anthony Joseph Torres, Provincial Board committee chair on health.

Aside from the free health services, the Starkey Hearing Foundation also conducted a seminar for 32 nurses from the PHO about the community-based hearing health care program, according to Joseph Barte, Starkey Hearing Foundation Country Coordinator.

The foundation started their operation in Manila in 2011. In 2015, the Provincial Government of Pampanga and Starkey Foundation started their collaboration to cater to hearing impaired kabalens who cannot afford to a hearing aid. (PR)
