AdDU inter-collegiate team chessfest set

THE 1st Ateneo de Davao University (Addu) Mindanao Inter-Collegiate team chess tournament will unfurl on February 25 and 26 at the AdDU Jacinto Campus in Davao City.

Tournament manager Ariel Aton, in an phone interview with SunStar Davao, said that there are six remaining slots available for interested registrants.

The Holy Cross of Davao College (HCDC) and Cor Jesu College (CJC) already confirmed to participate.

Aton also said that each team shall be composed of three male and two females with a coach.

"There are four regular boards and one alternate. The coach has an option to play the first two rounds but they should play on board 1," Aton said.

Registration is ongoing for the Swiss System format chessfest with entry fee pegged at P2,000 per team.

The champion team will take home P5,000 and a trophy while the next two winners will receive P3,000 and P2,000, respectively.
