Another cop arrested for gun ban violation

A TOP police official disclosed Thursday a policeman from the Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao (Armm) is subjected for investigation for violating the election gun ban and illegal possession of firearms.

Police Officer One Kimar Jakaria will face before the City Prosecutor's Office after being arrested on Tuesday night carrying an unlicensed caliber .45 pistol, Senior Superintendent Edwin de Ocampo, Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO) said.

Jakaria was assigned in Tabuan Lasa town, Basilan.

Jakaria was arrested by the policemen assigned with the Task Force Turista at the Paseo del Mar in Zone IV village.

De Ocampo said Jakaria was the 12th person to be arrested since the poll gun ban took effect.

De Ocampo said four of the 12 violators are members of the Philippine National Police (PNP).

The strict implementation of the election gun ban will continue, de Ocampo stressed.
