PRESIDENT Benigno Aquino III is willing to meet with Ombudsman Merceditas Gutierrez to settle issues in connection with the independent body's impartiality in treating cases.

Aquino, who earlier considered ousting the Ombudsman, said it is not the right time to talk about impeachment instead come up with judicial reforms to ensure that justice will be delivered to all.

"Mapping out judicial reform is one of the major plans in our platform and we are trying to find the best way to afford complete justice for all at the fastest time," he said.

Gutierrez earlier expressed her willingness to sit down with the President and discuss issues regarding her association with the former First Couple.

The administration of Aquino has expressed their doubts on the objectivity of Gutierrez citing the previous cases she handled favoring former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.

"Hindi naman ako naghahabol ng away para may mahanap na kaaway. Ito yung problema, saan ba ang solution, papaano ba tayo mapapabilis doon? Hindi importante sa akin ang pataasan ng ere," the President said.

The President said he has no intention to widen the gap with the Ombudsman and resolve differences once and for all. (Jill Beltran/Sunnex)
