DABAWENYOS will be enjoying a long weekend to celebrate Kadayawan Festival as the Office of the President already approved August 19 and 22 as special non-working days in Davao City.

The declaration was signed by Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea.

"It is but fitting and proper that the people of Davao be given full opportunity to celebrate and participate in the occasion with appropriate ceremonies," Medialdea said.

In a resolution passed on July 17, the Davao City Council sought for the declaration of August 19 and 22 as non-working holidays to give way to a long weekend celebration for the country's King of All Festivals.

The resolution which was passed by Councilor Al Ryan Alejandre cited August 19 as the Indigenous People's Day and August 22 as Thanksgiving Day. (CCC)
