LA TRINIDAD, Benguet - The Solidarity of Ambassador Victims and Evacuees (Save) is batting for the full rehabilitation of the Sto. Niño Catholic Chapel that was buried in mud by Typhoon Pepeng in October.

Vice president Rodolfo Cosente Jr. said the group has already borrowed a mechanized backhoe to slowly empty the chapel of mud.

"We are now looking for donors to give is fuel to defray the cost," Cosente said.

He added only the roof of the church was left. It used to have 100 seating capacity before the typhoons and served as the center for religious activity of the community.

Cordillera police Chief Orlando Pestaño donated 200 liters of fuel for the project of the Tublay folk. Businessman Roland Villanueva has also pledged 100 liters.

Save is hoping for more donors and help in the rehabilitation efforts of the church. (Maria Elena Catajan)
