THE meeting of the Baguio City Council with officials of the Bases Conversion Development Authority (BCDA) and the John Hay Management Corporation (JHMC) regarding the turnover of the former military base has been rescheduled again.

The heads of the BCDA and JHMC were not able to attend a special session of the council last week, citing previous commitments.

BCDA President and CEO Arnel Paciano Casanova said he and the other officers had to attend corporate planning sessions.

JHMC President and CEO Jamie Eloise Agbayani said she had an “equally important matter in Manila which was scheduled and confirmed prior to receiving your invitation.”

The council wanted to discuss the 19 conditions involving the handover of authority from the JHMC to the BCDA.

The transition process began after a court rescinded the lease agreement between the BCDA and the Camp John Hay Development Corporation (CJHDevCo).

The city council wants an assurance from BCDA it will honor the conditions despite the termination of the lease agreement.

Among the conditions are the segregation of the 13 barangays from the reservation and payment of the city’s share from the lease rentals.(Aileen Refuerzo)
