Berjaya, DDS shine Clinch footfest titles in Samal

BERJAYA Football Club (FC) and D' Davao Survivors (DDS) FC captured titles at the close of the 1st Sagrado de Jesus Footfest in Barangay Libertad, Kaputian in the Island Garden City of Samal recently.

Berjaya FC blanked Com Boys, 1-0, in their men's open championship match. The latter placed second while Mati FC and Rizal Memorial Colleges (RMC)-Khanj placed second and third, respectively.

DDS FC, for its part, annexed the women's open crown by nipping Pantukan FC, 2-1, in their titular showdown. Pantukan bagged the runner-up honors as University of the Philippines and Mati FC took the next three spots.

D'DS was bannered by Analou Ingles, Michelle Alfeche, Helen Perez, Jerlyn Ibabao, Ellen Cuizon, Reynalyn Ravanes, Joyce Semacio, Knayeza Feb Abellar and Rose Marie Sumagang.

Al Dinn Tiborn was hailed most valuable player in men's division while Semacio got the women's MVP title.

Cash prizes were awarded to the top four teams in the bootfest sponsored by Jarex Fire Distinguisher and Allied Services and Hechiky Corporation.

All participating teams received jerseys, kit with mug and bag tag.

Lunch packs were also given to them.

The tournament, organized by Rachelle delos Reyes in partnership with Davao Region Football Association and Island Garden City of Samal Government, also featured eight-under, boys 10-under, boys 13-under and girls 13-under categories.
