MANILA -- Senator Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. has committed support to the Senate Presidency bid of partymate Senator Manny Villar despite having been approached by his fellow newbie senator TG Guingona to support the bid of Liberal Party's bet Kiko Pangilinan.

“(TG) said if I could meet with their group and I said I will be happy to meet with their group. So that I don't come with false pretenses, I said my position is very clear that I ran with the NP, I won with the NP, so I will stay within the group," said the young Marcos.

Marcos said that from his knowledge, around seven to eight senators have signed a resolution expressing support for Villar, including him.

However, votes are yet to be counted and members of the Senate can still change their minds on who they will vote when session opens on July 26. (Kathrina Alvarez/Sunnex)
