Camp 7 run for a cause fires off Sunday

CLOSE to 200 foot racers are expected to answer the starting gun Sunday for the Fun Run for a Cause of Camp 7 spearheaded by the barangay council and the Sanguniang Kabataan (SK).

The fun run is set to attract running enthusiasts from all over the city with the aim of raising much needed fund for the construction of a new Camp 7 elementary school building.

The race starts at 7:30 a.m. where the historic Lion's Head will be the jump-off and will end at the barangay's talipapa.

"We're expecting around 250 racers and the registration will be open until Sunday before the race starts," said Camp 7 SK chairman Benjie Buena.

Buena said the race is open to all foot racers who wish to join in their effort of constructing one building composed of two class rooms for the Camp 7 elementary school.

"This is the first time that we are doing this and we are hoping to get good response," added Buena

The race will cover almost two kilometers of steep uphill climb of historic Kennon Road.

Participants who wish join the fun run needs to shell out a registration fee of P50 and may call or text Buena at (0939)642-8008 or Gilford Ambaked at (0930)822-9494. (Roderick Osis)
