THE City of Talisay Traffic Operation Development Authority (CTTODA) has decided tosuspend the implementation of the city’s truck ban.

This, after CTTODA acting head Almond dela Peña discovered that some traffic enforcers they have earlier sacked are using the truck ban to extort money.

Dela Peña told reporters that they caught two former traffic enforcers asking for money from a driver who allegedly violated the truck ban.

The two sacked enforcers have surrendered their citation tickets to CTTODA.

With this, Dela Peña said he plans to conduct more operations against erring traffic enforcers.

Earlier this month, 17 traffic enforcers were sacked following Dela Peña’s campaign to rid CTTODA of scalawags.

Despite the temporary suspension of the truck ban, though, Dela Peña said they will continue appreheding trucks that will cause traffic in the city’s major thoroughfares.
