Cebu's water vendor gets Mayor's Special Award

CEBU City's famous water vendor Jaykummer Teberio received a special award for inspiring the youth of his journey to get a college diploma despite his challenges in life.

Teberio, also known as Dodoy, received the Mayor's Special Award during the Cebu City's Charter Day last February 24.

“I'm very happy with the award because this is part of my hard work to inspire the others,” Teberio said.

Teberio is taking up Bachelor of Science in Education at the University of Cebu. He is set to graduate on March 15, 2017.

He has said he plans to work for a private school after passing the board exam.

Aside from Teberio, the other recipients of the Mayor's Special Award were Dr. Rhigel Jay Tan, the City of Haarlemmermeer, the Cebu Provincial Board, Governor Hilario Davide III, Cebu City Police Office Director Joel Doria, Bureau of Fire Protection's retired Senior Superintendent Ma.
