Chinese firm visits Davao City for infra prospects

REPRESENTATIVES from a state-owned enterprise from China arrived on Monday, May 15, in Davao City to seek possible partnerships with the city for infrastructure projects.

Davao City Investment and Promotion Center head Lemuel Ortonio, in an interview with SunStar Davao, said that the China State Construction Engineering mainly from Guangdong China had a courtesy call with Davao City Zuleika Lopez to seek for possible infrastructure partnership.

"Ginatan-aw nila ang partnership sa City Government for a health care facility and possible infrastructure projects which they can assist," he said.

Ortonio said that the group mainly asked for primary guidelines and processes to avail partnership in these projects.

He said that an influx of Chinese investors have come to Davao City ever since former city mayor and now President Rodrigo Duterte visited China.

He said majority of the foreign nationals who have taken interest in Davao City said that Duterte is one of the reasons for their visits. (KVC)
