ILOILO City Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog has put a stop in the hiring of new traffic enforcers of the Traffic Management and Transport Regulation Office (TMTRO).

The mayor justified the hiring stoppage of traffic enforcers with the installation of several traffic lights in busy intersections and street junctions complete with CCTV cameras that facilitate the smooth flow of traffic in the city.

By December 28, another four traffic lights will be installed and these will help decongest the traffic in the city proper. Some 20 traffic lights were already installed that help decongest the traffic situation here.

TMTRO has more than 200 traffic enforcers deployed in different parts of the city proper and districts working as casual employees and job hires of the City Government.
