FINANCIAL assistance will be extended to flood victims in Marikina, the sister city of Bacolod, said Bacolod City Mayor Monico Puentevella.

Before a crowd of Liberal Party people celebrating the death of national hero, former Sen. Benigno "Ninoy" Aquino Wednesday, the mayor said he will ask the finance officers of the local government to look for funds, even just a little assistance, that the city can extend to its sister city.

Luzon was badly affected by the almost endless rain for several days, and it soaked many houses and people in a terrible situation.

“Bacolod has little money. But we will make sure that we can extend even a little of what we have," Puentevella said.

He had also asked the support of members of the City Council who were present during the celebration Wednesday, namely, councilors Sonya Verdeflor, Archie Baribar, Kalaw Puentevella, Jocelle Sigue, Jun Gamboa, and Ana Marie Palermo.
