RESCUE teams already found on Thursday night all the bodies of the miners who went missing when the Australia mining tunnel in Compostela Valley collapsed last February 27 due to heavy rains.

In a phone interview with Monkayo Chief of Police Police Superintendent Jay Dema-ala on Friday, he said that the three remaining miners Roel Dacaldacal, Richard Monsoon and Bryan Monsoon were already excavated around 9 p.m. Thursday.

"The responding teams provided by the Australia Tunnel have already found all the miners who were stuck during the incident. The company also owed to provide for the financial needs of the families of the victims," Dema-ala said.

The mining company is still under the investigation of the Mines and Geosciences Bureau whether it would be fit to operate again.

The company will also conduct some re-assessment activities to avoid the incident to occur again in the future.

"We are still waiting for the results of their investigations. We would rely to what the officials from the Mines and Geosciences Bureau have to say on the incident, by then, the company will proceed to their re-assessment," Dema-ala added.

The tunnel, which was located in the gold-rush mountain of Diwalwal, collapsed evening of February 27 when huge amount of water entered the mine.

Twelve miners were trapped in the incident at the time. Three of them were earlier declared dead, including a man who tried to salvage them. The other six were rescued.
