A POLICEMAN was injured in a highway accident in the province of Zamboanga del Norte, the police reported Friday, February 16.

The incident happened at 3:05 p.m. Thursday, February 15, in Barangay Comunal, Liloy town.

The victim was identified as Police Officer 1 Ruel Angelo Ocamia, 27, who was assigned at the Regional Mobile Force Battalion-9 and based in the village of Fatima, Liloy.

Based on investigation, Ocamia was driving a motorcycle on the way to Barangay Baybay in Liloy when he accidentally bumped a cargo truck that was parked at the opposite side of the road.

The police said the 10-wheeler cargo truck was owned by Councilor Ernesto Bihag of Liloy.

Ocamia, who suffered injuries, was brought to the Liloy District Hospital for treatment. (SunStar Philippines)
