Cops rescue Filipino-Chinese businessman in Zamboanga (2:33 p.m.)

ZAMBOANGA CITY – Police have rescued a Chinese-Filipino businessman few minutes after he was seized by five suspected kidnappers in this southern port city, officials said Tuesday.

Senior Supt. Edwin de Ocampo, Zamboanga City police chief, identified the rescued victim as Thomas To, 65, who runs a furniture business as well as other businesses in the city.
