Danao fisherman suffers 'heart attack,' drowns

A FISHERMAN, 65, drowned in the seawaters off Barangay Dunggoan, Danao City last Thursday afternoon. SPO1 Arnold Labine, desk officer, identified the fatality as Rufino Valdez, who possibly had a heart attack while he was catching fish.

Labine said that investigators were told by the fisherman’s relatives that Valdez had a heart ailment.

Valdez was alone when he went to the sea last Thursday morning.

Residents saw his body floating.

Police advised the family to let the fisherman’s body undergo an autopsy to erase doubts of foul play. (KAL)
