THE tandem of Calvin Sarte and Louijie Tipgos emerged men's champion of the Beach Volleyball Republic on Tour in Davao City at Cavanico iL Mare Resort in the Island Garden of Samal (Igacos) over the weekend.

Sarte, a bemedaled spiker of the Holy Cross of Davao College (HCDC), and Tipgos recovered from a first set loss to demolish Philippine Navy team of Nur-Amin Madsairi and Roldan Medino, 13-21, 21-18, 15-13.

The champion pair shocked University Athletic Association of the Philippines champion University of Sto. Tomas rivals in the crossover semifinals.

In the distaff side, Philippine National Police tandem of Lourdelyn Catubag and Karen Quilario, who hail from Tagum City, spanked Zhei Gervacio and Kate Morrel of Seafolly Australia, 21-16, 21-19.
