THE Brokenshire College (BC)-bannered Davao City bagged the men's tennis team gold medal after beating Davao del Norte, 3-0, in the just-concluded 2010 Commission on Higher Education (Ched) Regional Meet.
The tournament was held at the University of Mindanao (UM) Matina campus.
Davao City's El Santo Santos, an Indonesia BIMP Eaga Friendship Games gold medalist, drew first blood for the Big City bets when he crushed his UM Tagum rival in the first singles, 8-3.
The pair of Jecco Lapiz and Jason Abas then followed it up with an 8-3 victory against their opponents in the doubles event.
Henry Aniana then completed the rout with an impressive 8-1 win in the second singles of the tournament, which is a qualifying event for the National Ched Meet slated Feb. 22 to 28 at the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex in Manila. (MLSA)
