Deftac Ribiero wins 11 medals

THE Deftac Ribeiro of Davao City brought home three gold medals, four silvers and four bronzes in the Dumau International Open Jiu-Jitsu Competition held recently at the SM Seaside Cebu.

Jonathan Narisma clinched two golds as teammate Miko Aquino added another gold medal for the team that emerge overall champion in the event that drew a total of seven teams here and abroad.

Blue belt Narisma copped his first gold in the middle weight masters and followed it up with another gold in absolute category.

Brownbelt Aquino annexed the gold in the featherweight adult division.

Silver medalists were Jan Hao (lightweight adult division), Francis de Guzman (featherweight masters), Fidel Ballesteros ( featherweight adult), and Justin Herrera (featherweight adult).

Hao also won a bronze in the open weight division along with Jett Intencion (light featherweight adult category), Ken Gumera (light featherweight adult category) and Arnold Sadsad (lightweight adult category).

Deftac Ribeiro will fly to Japan in September for another international grappling competition.
