DGL rules SRP Autocross

POWERHOUSE DGL Motorsports cruised to another dominating performance in the 2nd leg of the Philippine Autocross Championship Series at the South Road Properties (SRP) last weekend.

The team, headed by veteran racers Mato Tan and 2009 Cebu Driver of the Year and Regional Driver of the Year awardee David G. Lim, walked away with 26 trophies.

Tan capped off a successful stint by logging the best time of the event. On board DGL’s Honda CRX, he finished the tough course in 36.22 seconds, while Lim finished second-best with a time of 36.53 seconds.

Kartzone’s Derek Arculli was the third-fastest after clocking 37.72 seconds.

Aside from clocking the best time, Tan also won division titles in the open B, all-wheel drive and all-CRX classes. Lim bagged the experienced stock B and C, Open C and All-Honda crowns. Kartzone’s Justin Neri won the Open A crown.

Other winners were No Care Racing’s Jong Kong (All-Subaru), Dennis Corro (experienced stock A), Philip Lim (automatic class), and Allan Chuachoy (novice stock A and C). (PR)
