THE National Food Authority (NFA) will start today, Thursday, the distribution of excess rice stocks to needy children through the Department to Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).

Around 50,000 tons of rice from the excess supply of NFA will be distributed.

It will be made into porridge and will be given to day care pupils all over the country.

DSWD Secretary Dinky Soliman said in a radio report that the rice to be distributed to local governments will be free.

The rice distribution will benefit around 1.5 million children from three to four years old. (Sunnex)
