Drug surrenderee in Ilog town found dead

A DRUG personality of Ilog, Negros Occidental was found dead at Barangay Tabu Sunday.

Police identified the fatality as Rogelio “Gamay” Tulio Jr., 51.

Chief Inspector Nerito Lobrido, chief of Ilog Municipal Police Station, said Tulio, who succumbed to gunshot wounds, was found about 70 meters away from the highway, and 40 meters away from his house at around 6:55 a.m.

Police recovered at the crime scene two fired cases of 12-gauge shotgun and a live ammunition.

A sack was also found beside Tulio with a note, “Huwag niyo akong tularan” (Do not imitate me).

Lobrido said Tulio is an identified drug user, but he is not into the sale of illegal drugs.

Tulio was subjected to Oplan Tokhang and voluntarily surrendered to the police on July 12, but continuously used illegal drugs, based on police monitoring.

Investigation is ongoing.
