Drug surrenderer shot dead

A DRUG surrenderer was shot to death by an unidentified man on Locsin Street, Parola in Barangay 6, San Carlos City, Negros Occidental early Wednesday morning, May 10.

Police identified the fatality as Hernan Favores, 42, of the said barangay. He was under the station’s drugs watchlist and had surrendered through Oplan Tokhang.

Superintendent Arturo Fullero, city police chief, said Favores’ body was found by the roadside in the barangay around 12:10 a.m.

He succumbed to a lone gunshot wound and a lone stab wound.

Recovered from Favores’s possession were seven sachets of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride or "shabu," a lighter, an improvised tooter, and P3,730 cash.
