DTI-Central Luzon now ISO: 9001:2008 certified

ANGELES CITY -- The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)-Central Luzon was awarded an ISO: 9001:2008 certification in simple rites at the Board of Investments Board Room here over the weekend.

DTI Regional Director Blesila Lantayona said that this is another major milestone of DTI in Region 3, the first ISO 9000 certified government agency in the Philippines in year 1997, whose scope of concentration is the training Productivity Improvement and Strategic Planning program.

Lantayona said that this achievement translates to better standards of services from the DTI.

Present during the awarding, were Secretary Jesli Lapus, Undersecretary Merly Cruz of the DTI Regional Operations and Development Group (DTI-RODG), DTI Assistant Regional Director Judith Angeles, Provincial Directors and their staff, as well as other DTI officials and staff from the different regional offices.

In his message during the awarding ceremony, Lapus congratulated the DTI Region 3 in their success in conforming to the ISO 9001:2008 standards.

"You are the model in your region. We cannot give what we do not have. The DTI Region 3 embarked on its journey towards ISO certification. This year, together with the Cordillera Administrative Region, Region I and Region II; Region 3 successfully hurdled the Stage 1 and Stage 2 audits of Certification International of its Quality Management System," Lapus said.
