THE Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) are jointly conducting a one-day Diskwento Caravan in Zamboanga City.

DTI Provincial Director Rolando Acuña said the caravan is part of the activities of the GSIS in line with its 78th founding anniversary.

It will be held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday at the compound of the GSIS at Moret field in the village of Baliwasan.

Acuña said basic necessities and prime commodities, including clothing items and appliances, will be sold at discounted prices by local department stores and distributors.

He said that at least 10 percent discount will be given by participating stores and distributors.

He said the public can also take advantage of the Diskwento Caravan since it is not exclusive to government employees and clients of GSIS. (Bong Garcia)
