Dumaguete City to conduct 'Operation Tuli' for indigent teens

Sunnexdesk

THE Dumaguete City Government, through the City Health Office, will conduct its yearly “Operation Tuli” (operation circumcision) for indigent young boys in the city this summer.

City Health Officer Sarah Talla Tuesday, April 4, said young boys 7 to 14 years old can avail the local government’s circumcision program starting this month of April.

Talla said the activity is scheduled every summer since there are no classes and it is the right time for teens and adolescents to get circumcised.

A fee of P200 each is required for the operation and for the office to provide the medicines.

A medical team will be visiting the barangays to do the operation, Talla said.

The operation caters 20 to 25 boys every Thursday and Friday for two months in the summer, Talla added.

The health official said it is important for adolescents to get circumcised since it is part of good hygiene. (PNA)
