PPCRV, the accredited citizens’ arm of the Commission on Elections (Comelec), is a church-backed poll watchdog that has vowed to help support the implementation of the automated system this May.

Namfrel

Before joining PPCRV, de Villa served as the national chairperson of the National Citizens Movement for Free Elections (Namfrel) for one year until Sept. 24, 2009.

Her resignation came after she decided to focus on matters related to the automated elections.

The PPCRV chief was a former ambassador to the Vatican.

In previous forums, the election watchdog maintained it is a non-partisan group and will support the Comelec in ensuring honest and successful elections. (Sunnex)
