STARTING tomorrow, March 1, all types of vehicles will not be allowed to access F. Llamas St., to pave way for the start of the phase 3 of the underpass project along N. Bacalso Avenue in Cebu City.

In an interview with SunStar Cebu, Engr. Roy dela Cruz, project engineer of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH)-Central Visayas said closure will start at 6 a.m.

Dela Cruz said all vehicles will be diverted to E. Sabellano St., in going towards the southern part.

He added that closed portion of N. Bacalso Ave., will still be closed as the contractor of the project is still doing ground works in the area.

“At the moment, we have one lane that is accessible for light vehicles in going to the city proper from the south. All other lanes are still closed,” he said.

Meanwhile, Engr. Tifanny Tio, materials engineer of DPWH-Central Visayas, said the multi-billion underpass project on N. Bacalso Ave. is now 60 percent complete.

At present, the contractor is working on the foundation of the underpass. (RVC/SunStar Cebu)
